On the date of October 1st 2015, Giorgia’s school has been officially opened.
Four classrooms, from K.G. to fourth grade, one teacher’s room and six toilets actually took life from a ruined building made out of stones where approx. 60 children were attending lessons, even without a roof.
Special thanks to all donors who allowed the implementation of this important project in DAYA, a remote village of IROB Province, in the Eastern Tigray Region, Ethiopia.
On July 2nd 2016, in order to guarantee a minimum standard of sanitary conditions to the 200 children already attending the classes and to prevent the rapid deterioration of toilets facilities, thanks to the great contribution received by an anonymous donor, took officially place the opening ceremony of a rainwater roof catchment system, made of piping and an 85 cubic metres capacity cistern for the collection of rainwater.
